Alcoholism Addiction Treatment and Treatment for
Drug Addiction: So What Should You Be Doing?
"So what are your alcoholism addiction
treatment & treatment for drug addiction options?"
When considering the whole drug and alcoholism addiction treatment route, you need to understand that becoming clean or sober
works in two parts ...
i) The Getting Clean - which is usually a period of detox etc., which you can do by going to a rehab or
addiction treatment center if you have the money. There are more to rehab centers than just detoxing, but my point is if you spend
a month in one of those, you'll pretty much have gained a month of sobriety under your belt. To me, this is usually the 'easier'
half of the equation ...
ii) Staying Clean, i.e. Recovery - this is the part where most addicts struggle because this is where you you have
to build a new life for yourself that involves staying off the drink and drugs. You often see famous celebrities like Britney
Spears and Lindsay Lohan spend time in rehab, come clean, and then struggle to maintain their sobriety. Building a new
life for yourself involves a lot of 'work', which isn't easy ...
So this section looks at the Getting Clean, i.e. your alcoholism treatment options and drug addiction treatments available.
Once you've gone through everything here, then move onto the staying clean, i.e. the Recovery Section.
