I was im a relationship like that once, I wanted to leave so badly but i was so scared to do it. He used to tell me all sorts of things about what he would do to me if i tried to leave him,he made me feel so worthless like my life would never amount to anything.It took me years and years to work up the courage to do it,but i did, it was hard at first espeially since i was so used to living with him and having my whole life revolve around him.I had to learn to be more independant and make new friends for myself.All the hard work was worth it.I dont have to listen to his b.s anymore and i feel like the weight of the world has been taken off my shoulders.and i havent looked back since.

Reclaim Your Power

Lisa ... remember, you can't control what your husband does or the things he says. But you can control your response, and as much as it may not feel like it right now, the power to change your life rests with you. You've been through a lot no doubt, but it's never too late to make changes. Sure it takes a lot of courage, but you and your kids deserve better. All the suggestions are good, but you have to take action on them if anything is going to change. Trust that if you get the ball rolling, things will work out for the best. Don't look too far into the future because it may seem overwhelming, just take it one step at a time. Best of luck and stay strong.
