Smelling Like Alcohol - Could This Mean My Husband is Sick?

My husband always smells like booze, even out his pours. Does this mean he is sick and his liver isn't working properly? He has 3 or 4 bourbon and waters a night.

Not necessarily. Alcohol causes one to dehydrate and so sweat more. The more you sweat, the more the alcohol comes out of your pours. This could be the case with your husband.

His general state of health and how he metabolises alcohol will also naturally play a role. People who are overweight for example tend to smell more easily than those that aren't.

That doesn't mean it isn't worth having his liver checked out. If he's been drinking a long time, there may be damage, so maybe you should use this as a reason to motivate him to get his health properly checked out.
