Russ's Drug and Alcohol Addictive Lifestyle ... Now in Recovery

Hello every one ... I'm just as crazy as you look and feel - and that's crazy. I wanna start off by saying I am in recovery and hope to remain in the sober life style I avoided as a teen and young adult.

I am in the healing process and look forward to learning all I can to help prevent others - especially our youth - for they are our future so where better to start? As for my addiction ... there is a lot to discuss and will keep it short as possible.

I started at a young age with drinking - mainly on the weekends with a group of teens. As life for me grew so did the addictive lifestyle ... I became more active in negativity and was unaware of how my actions would affect my future.

As I got older I tried other drugs like pot, acid, shrooms, cocaine, meth - which I all regret to this day. That's why I'm here today working on the healing process to better myself as a human being.

So if any one has a teen or young adult who is getting carried away with the use of alcohol or drugs - get a good understanding of why that is and let them know that you care and are willing to help heal those emotions they are feeling and are avoiding.

The key is to help them understand what they are neglecting, to talk about or express their feelings, give them something to feel alive about (encourage goals) so they can feel the purpose of being somebody.

I don't really have all the right answers, but like I said, I am in recovery and this is how I feel. Be honest, be yourself, most of all be smart and be safe. Take care of yourself, lend a helping hand, create, innovate, respect life, you create your own surroundings and you are who you choose to be.
