THE WORST REHAB EVER!

This place astounded me with their un-professionalism, poor education, boring groups, lack of compassion from the staff, & random, unequal treatment of patients. These people, who are a dysfunctional married couple named Ed & Suzie (she acts like she's on crack), are primarily focused on making money & use the high program costs to buy ocean-view homes that they use as the rehab or sober living homes. Also the detox care they have is the worst I've seen.
This is a lot of negative stuff to write but I will briefly go over each point as plainly as possible. There are positives in this rehab but not enough to justify the cost (which varies per person based on Suzie's evaluation of you- which is ridiculous! Because she is NOT licensed to do medical or psychological evaluations & even if she was New Method Wellness does what they want with you once you're there.

1) They treat people based on the program's needs & not ythe patient's. So you can pay extra for therapy 2 times a week but will only go 1 time. Also, they will switch therapists or cancel appointments on you WITHOUT NOTICE, REASON, DISCUSSION or RESCHEDULE. Why? B/C Ed & Suzie own & operate NMW & they do what they want.

2) They can & will kick you out whenever they want without notice or refund & they have literally dumped people off at a community center with all their belongings thrown into garbage bags & without notifying family or letting the person call anyone & threatening to call the police on them if they ask to wait on the sidewalk in front of rehab.

3) Being kicked out or allowed to stay is NOT based on any particular rule as everyone is treated arbitrarily. If a person Suzie or Ed doesn't like relapses one time after 2 months then they are given the garbage bag treatment & may even be accused of doing things they didn't do so they look good on paper. Another person is allowed to stay for over 2 years (treatment & sober living) despite relapsing 6 times & even having sex with 2 other clients & not only get to stay but get treated "like a daughter."

4) Suzie & other staff are verbally abusive & many clients are yelled at or called names or threatened to be kicked out. When I was there, all but 3 clients had relapsed & only one was given the garbage dump treatment eventhough she wanted to stay & her family was 30 minutes away & could easily have picked her up. Once she was gone Suzie & other staff said horrible things about her & other clients said Suzie had yelled at her saying she was gonna kick her out eventhough this girl was crying at the time & said nothing to Suzie. Suzie just never likes her. It wasn't right what they did to her & probably continue to do now.
